ABOUT….
WORTHY

When it comes down to the hype, his name says it all. He is Worthy. With an in-depth knowledge of production, mixing & performance, Worthy has the insight to play for his audience, cultivating intense positive energy on the dancefloor. From salty aired islands to dark club basements, over the past 12 years, Worthy has paid reverence to the traditional form of classic house while tripping off the mark & sinking into the euphoric less-charted territories of booty-clapping bass. As Carl Cox said, “The Worthy sound has always been powerful, rocking, funky, bass-driven music at its best & for me this is the new wave in house music.” He establishes an energetic dance floor camaraderie that makes even the most skeptic hater’s booty shake.

Growing up in Washington DC, Worthy was inspired by the early American rave scene. Moving to New York in the late 90’s, he was exposed to artists like LTJ Bukem & Stacey Pullen whose music inspired him to play records across multiple genres, from techno & breaks to hiphop & drum n’ bass. In 2001 he swapped coastlines, moving to San Francisco to pursue his music career.  There he teamed up with Claude Von Stroke & Justin & Christian Martin, becoming one of the 4 founding fathers of the Dirtybird party. Worthy’s breakout track, Irst Te, released on the Dirtybird label in 2007, quickly established his notoriety as a producer. With other bangers like Shy Look, Tric Trac  (co-produced with Eats Everything) & Dip, Worthy has been rocking the “Dirtybird” sound for nearly a decade now.

In 2014 Worthy released his debut full-length album, Disbehave, a genre-defying rebellion against the house producer’s status quo. Breaking down rules & boundaries, Worthy sought to set himself apart from the mundane world of expectation, striking out to release something unexpected. Disbehave was accepted with critical acclaim & received notable press attention.

In 2015, Worthy released a 2 part remix album of Disbehave with artists including Thugfucker, Stanton Warriors, Yolanda be Cool, Matt Tolfrey & a slew of other amazing producers. Another Dirtybird release So Delicious followed, while many collabs stormed the charts & the clubs throughout 2016, with success for tracks on Defected, DFTD, Polydor, Toolroom & This Ain’t Bristol.

Concurrently, Worthy established his own label, Anabatic Records,  relaunched in 2016 with Faded, an E.P. with Nick Olivetti. This allowed him to be a bit more experimental with his production & expanded his reach as an artist. Many of the songs have charted on sites such as Beatport include Concubia, Work The Walls & Flashin.  Worthy continues his relentless tour schedule throughout the U.S. taking in Dirtybird Campout, Symbiosis Gathering & Ministry of Sound, London to rock the Defected crew West-Coast style.

Throughout 2017 labels fell over themselves to sign Worthy, featuring his productions on Exploited, Strangelove, Insomniac & Defected to name a few.  In 2018 he is currently on tour with his production partner Option 4 , the pair releasing Dance Around on Nervous Records in January.  His latest 2 releases Moody EP & That Feeling EP are out on Simma Black ,  as well as Freak Frequency on his own Anabatic label.
